What we do, what we will not do, and how to tell us we got it wrong. This exists so that a reader can tell the difference between a review and an advertisement without having to guess.
Independence
Nobody buys a review. Commissioned and partnered work is labelled at the head of the piece, before the reader has spent any time on it. A brand that pays for placement does not get approval over an unrelated piece about them.
Gifts, samples and travel
We accept samples and press trips where they are the only way to see the work, and we say so in the piece when we do. Accepting one does not commit us to covering anything, or to covering it favourably.
Photography and image rights
We publish images we are cleared to publish, and photography is credited to whoever took it where the credit has been provided to us and where it is required. Rights and attribution information is recorded with the piece.
If you believe we have published your photograph without the right to, tell us through the contact page and we take it down while we check, not after.
Digital and AI-assisted tools
Digital and AI-assisted tools may support editorial workflows such as research organisation, transcription, translation, drafting or editing where appropriate. Publication decisions and final editorial responsibility remain with PROMINENT.
AI-generated or synthetic imagery is not presented as documentary photography. Where an image has been generated rather than photographed, the piece says so.
Corrections
We correct errors of fact rather than quietly editing them out. Our corrections policy sets out how, and the contact page is where to report one.
